Vind-Syssel
Vind-Syssel
was one of the 3 major Danish WTG manufacturing
companies appearing in the 980s out of the grassroots' experiment
to make the utilisation of wind power from before 950 come
back into public use. During the following 0 years, most of the
3 companies were out of business due to changes in politics in
Denmark and the United States and in combination with a too
weak economic foundation in the companies. Vind-Syssel was
closed down in late 990, after manufacturing and erecting 50
units, mainly 50 kW. Most of the WTGs were sold to farmers and
local owner-groups in Denmark. Three units were sold to Sweden,

also indicates the very northwest of Denmark—an area called Vendsyssel—
where this enterprise began.
