In-Depth Information
This organisation aimed at promoting renewable energy all over
the country as an alternative to fossil fuels, and to prevent nuclear
power from becoming part of the power supply mix. OVE arranged
bi-annual meetings for self builders, politicians and other interested
stakeholders. These meetings and the general network made by OVE
became an important catalyst to the development of a renewable
energy market place and technological development in Denmark.

Hundreds of enthusiasts building solar ovens, biogas facilities
and wind turbines met at the gatherings each year. At Tvind, a group
of schools managed to build their own megawatt wind turbine, and
the faith in wind power gradually became stronger.
