plants and solar panels have a future as something for what a
construction manual could be made?
This sort of entrepreneurship fitted ideally into the NIVE
visions of renewable energy, local production and openness. It
has, in fact, been carried on ever since within the framework
of the Folkecenter for Renewable Energy by embracing various
renewable energy technologies ofering them as technological and
organisational support to many companies until they were able
to go on their own.

It was quite unusual to find support for renewable energy in
the business establishment in the 1970s. The Federation of Danish
Industries represented the big industries staked in 100% on
atomic power with all its influence. But the Danish Blacksmiths'
Association's boldness and foresight also won the Danish
Federation of small and medium-sized enterprises for renewable
energy. One of its leaders, Jesper Bøge, put forward these views
with zeal in places where the young and small renewable energy
organisations would never have gained an ear. The importance
