The resulting windmill was a feat, for which posterity has not
shown proper appreciation. International publications on wind
power tended to overlook it, and it was not presented at international
conferences as the impressive example it actually was. In fact, the
Tvind windmill would have been a magnificent success anyway.
And it will undoubtedly go on, towering over the flat Western
Jutland landscape for many more years, and provide the schools
with clean energy even it was not designed by the most famous
international institutes and industries.
7.9.1
Money Alone Makes No Difference
Neither the Nibe wind turbines, nor the Tvind wind turbine, were
constructed with a purpose of industrial production. Tvind remained
a single example, while the group of enterprises behind the Nibe A
and B, disintegrated. Whatever was left over, was made into a new
consortium, Danish Wind Technology A/S (DWT), initiated by Poul
Nielson, the Minister of Energy. Now was the moment for the big
companies, ASEA, Vølund, SEAS and the state to demonstrate how
