Juul's Record Stood for Almost 30 Years
In 1961, Johannes Juul presented the production figures of his
windmill at a United Nations conference in Rome, showing the
results of the Bogø wind turbine before and after the reconstruction.
The improvements were convincing. Whereas the FLS 1942 version
had delivered 114 kWh/m
swept area per year, Juul multiplied
the production five times to 610 kWh, on the same site with his
version. Annually, the 45 kW AC windmill produced 80 000 kWh.
And it was not as a single occurrence. Measurements exist from the
years 1953-1960 with production figures so high, that we have to
wait until the mid-1980s until the new generation of wind turbine
