Politicians' Relations with Wind Power
We are in the winter of 1974. The Danes have been told to economise
on oil, as oil covers almost 100% of the country's energy consump-
tion. And all of it comes from remote Middle East.
The first plans for wind energy emerge already during this
winter, that is, long before anyone has heard of OVE, Chr. Riisager,
the Risø testing station, a Danish natural gas net and all the rest of
the terms that are constantly present in the newspaper headlines
during the following years. But already in 1974 two camps had been
formed: it was either windmills or nuclear power.
