Natural Energy
In 1985, the political majority in the Danish parliament decided
to cancel the plans for use of nuclear power. This decision forced
the Danish utilities to revise their attitude in relation to renewable
energy—and especially wind power. In order to speed up this
process, the parliament also required the utilities to build 100 MW
wind power during a five-year period.

New Ambitious Targets for Wind Energy:
1990-1996
In April 1990, the Minister of Energy Jens Bilgrav-Nielsen, presented
the third Danish energy plan, “Energy 2000”. It was very diferent
from the two previous plans from 1976 and 1981.
