Fig. 3.7 Start out in the Browse Window of DaVinci Resolve.
Now switch to the Conform window—again, using the buttons at the
very bottom of the screen—and you should see that the top left corner is
the Media Pool with all of the same clips that were in the Browse win-
dow's Media Pool.
In the Timeline Management section—to the left, below Media Pool
in the Conform Window—select NEW + to create a news Master Session
( Figure 3.8 ). All of the clips in the Media Pool will be added to it and be
displayed in the timeline at the bottom right.
Now, switch to the Color window using the buttons at the very bottom
of the screen. Through the center of the screen, you can see the timeline.
Click on the clip of the “Art_institute_blue.mov” in the timeline to see it
in the viewer.
This image is definitely incorrectly white balanced. Check out the
“Art_institute_proper.mov” shot ( Figure 3.9 )—which should also be in
the timeline if you put all of the footage from the DVD into the Media
Pool—to see the same scene with the proper white balance.
This image has the proper white balance. The façade of the building
seems warm, but note that the lettering of the banners is white.
