of categories, which can only happen based on sociological, psychological and
anthropological studies carried out in the field, are also dependent on lifestyles and
cultures and can therefore evolve in time and space; the issue is knowing how to
take these evolutions into account.
All these limitations and constraints represent avenues of research that
specifically require a multidisciplinary approach.
9.5. Conclusion
The consideration of the user in applications becomes an increasingly important
criterion in the context of the development of new ICT applications. Numerous
works have studied various issues, such as the notion of user profile, information
personalization and elements that are attached to it or the mood of the user. To our
knowledge, however, there are no works that have attempted to provide an answer to
the consideration of the attitude of the traveler during his trips on public transport or,
more specifically, the consideration of travel time experience (time used for
working, communicating or resting).
In the context of our works, via the use of different sociological and
anthropological studies, we provide a first approach to the consideration of the travel
time experience within applications. Thus, we propose to add new stages to the
phase of needs' analysis, which is a prerequisite for all ICT development, for it to
take into account the notion of travel time experience during the creation of different
business processes associated with the application. Then, in the context of an MDA
approach, we propose solutions to take into account the travel time experience
within conceptual models of the application. Finally, we propose a solution to take
into account the category changes, either in an explicit or implicit manner, when the
user is using the application. If our works still leave a lot of questions unanswered,
they represent, in our opinion, interesting progress in the field of interactive
personalized applications in public transport in so far as developments are based on
the users and their needs in terms of mobility and not on systems, whether these are
embedded or not.
