In practice, the targeted application is an automobile multimedia center that can
resemble a cell phone or smart phone type environment and that therefore groups
together the everyday personal data of a standard situation of this type of system
(schedule, contacts, music, etc.) to which data specific to the application
environment are added: the automobile. Furthermore, given the application context
this time - while driving - nodes of the tree are made inaccessible by taking into
account the incompatibility of certain menus with the attention required for
automobile driving (for example, looking at a series of photos or watching a video is
not permitted). In the end, the structure has three levels of hierarchy starting from
six main menus: Communication , Navigation , Vehicle , Music , Images , and Videos .
Figure 8.3 presents the taxonomy and organization of the system used in the study as
well as the different constraints that are imposed.
