tasks can then take place. The interaction patterns [BOR 01], the aim of which is to
propose stereotyped interactions which facilitate both the deployment by the
developer and the mastering of the interaction by the user help this instantiation.
The set up of the augmented reality approach requires the precise geometric
locating of physical elements, in order to adjust the visualization to the appropriate
scale of virtual elements. Indeed, if we wish to be able to indicate which screw to
unscrew first, it is necessary to be able to place the arrow at the appropriate place,
which implies knowing the position (distance) of the subject and the direction in
which they are looking (and therefore which way their head is turned) in relation to
the targeted elements.
The aim of the control engine is to animate learning and link it with work
interventions. It plays the role of conductor which uses the databases of learning
units described in IMS-LD [NOD], an internationally recognized format of description
and characterization of learning units. We use XML to make portable and easily
transformable what is written, to be able to take into account the display and
interaction means linked to the different configurations of the wearable computer.
6.9. ICT in city delivery
A second study conducted, situated in the domain of the HMTD and IMERA
issue, is entitled Computerized Management of deliveries in a large town or e-
delivery.
The objective of this project is to study the deployment of a distributed and
mobile ICT environment enabling all the goods transportation participants (traffic
management, suppliers, customers, transporters-deliverers, traffic controllers, etc.)
to benefit from and/or act with a view to a better use of infrastructures and delivery
areas to make traffic in large towns safer and more freely flowing.
Among the objectives of the project there are the following aspects in particular:
it is necessary to be able to dynamically prohibit truck access to certain places in the
town (near schools when the pupils are going in or coming out) and make the
delivery areas more efficient through a prior booking, which can evolve
dynamically, as necessary. For this, it is a matter of equipping the transportation
participants with a means of communication which allows them to receive and/or
emit useful information.
