The key message should be clear and conspicuous at the front of the slide. It can
be set apart with color or shading, as shown in Figure 12.8 ; other techniques can
also be used to draw attention to it. The key message may become the single talking
point that executives or the project sponsor take away from the project and use to
support the team's recommendation for a pilot project, so it needs to be succinct
and compelling. To make this message as strong as possible, measure the value of
the work and quantify the cost savings, revenue, time savings, or other benefits to
make the business impact concrete.
