Shutter Speeds
The shutter speed determines how long the shutter remains open, thereby
varying the amount of light it allows in. Digital compact cameras are fully
automated and do not have the facility to change the length of exposures.
In Digital SLRs, when in manual or certain semiautomatic modes, the shutter
speed can be adjusted. Long exposures are achieved by very slow shutter
