of a figure in motion can still be
gained from a single still image that
illustrates balance, gait, and posture.
Sequential images are much more likely to provide relevant information on
the development and progression of an action over time and demonstrate
how the combined dynamics of separate parts of a figure work together
to create the entire action. Sequences of still images may provide useful
information on the overall dynamics, whereas the individual frames from
within the sequence may provide specific information on key moments within
the action. These individual images could prove very useful as a guide for
creating keyframes for an animated sequence. Rather than using the entire
sequence of images, as in rotoscoping, the use of individual images as guides
