and a show. Cover charges may be as much as
$50 or $60 without dinner and close to $100
with it. Call ahead for show times as schedules
often vary from night to night. The following is
an overview of some of our favorites. All accept

Keep your eyes open for tango composer
and musician Astor Piazzola - he is the
most acclaimed tango artist in the
world today. You would be lucky indeed
to catch one of his performances.

After closing its doors for several years, on our
last visit we were happy to discover that El
Viejo Almacén had reopened. Many a porteño
will tell you that you haven't truly experienced
Buenos Aires until you've spent an evening at
El Viejo Almacén. We have to agree. Often
referred to as “The Temple of Tango,” the city's
most legendary tango artists, dancers and
musicians, have performed here and continue
to do so today. Shows feature classic tango with
El Viejo
Almacén has
been officially
declared a cul-
tural landmark.
