Anytime/Anywhere
Computing
In This Chapter
• An examination of the expansion of remote network solutions
• A review of accessibility considerations for remote service availability
• Considerations for securing remote and mobile resource access
Miniaturization and high-density batteries have placed more raw pro-
cessing power in my cell phone than was available for the Apollo space
program. This small device makes available e-mail and social networks,
media content and maps, communications and data exchange. The sheer
volume of data available through my mobile window to the world is stag-
gering, empowering my ability to access every element of enterprise net-
work resources from anywhere at any time. The curse of this flood of
information and connectivity is that I am never truly away from the office
unless I take action to shut off that window.

mobile access is secure, meaningful, and available via limited bandwidth.
