2.5 STAGE 5, THE LAST 200 YEARS THE SUDDEN INCREASE
OF NEW DANGERS
In the last stage of evolution, since the Industrial Revolution, our
work and home situations have developed dramatically. In the more
developed parts of the world, we do not have to fight for food any-
more, and the most aggressive animals walk on a leash. The once-
useful innate danger activation is seldom triggered in this modern
world. At the same time, danger comes from new sources, from an
environment that is artificial to the original brain. We have developed
so much technological power that we can easily destroy the whole
world. What has been developed in billions of years can be eliminated
within a day. At work, we meet new technologies, tools, and sub-
stances that can be very dangerous. Impacts of the new technologies
are enormous regarding their speed, power, and strength. At home, we
have to deal with new equipment, instant boiling water, and
unstable steps. On roads, we have to deal with a very dangerous traffic
system that causes many casualties all over the world. Our brain has
hardly any natural warning systems for these new dangers. Although
we inherited a very well-functioning safety management system, the
changes have been so fast that our brains need full reprogramming.
The safety system of the brain has to be reprogrammed for new dangers.
