objectives diameter after assembly (the size of the circle represents each objective's
OD). GRIN and hemispherical lens-GRIN assemblies are denoted with red, while
compound miniature lenses are plotted in blue. An obvious trend can be noticed;
GRIN lenses are significantly more compact; however, they usually provide smaller
FOV for equivalent NA. In addition for higher NA they often work with shorter
working distance. Multi-lens systems have larger diameters but also offer a more
