that will be printed.
1 To save in the PNG format, choose File > Save for Web. The Save for Web dialog box appears.
2 From the Presets drop-down menu, choose PNG-24, and make sure the Transparency check box is se-
lected.
Choose the PNG-24 preset and make sure Transparency is checked.
3 Click Save at the bottom of the Save for Web dialog box.
4 In the Save Optimized As dialog box, type advps0402_optimized ; make sure that you saving into the
advps04lessons folder, and then click Save.
EPS, DCS 2.0
If you want to use transparency in documents that will be printed, you should use the EPS format. The
EPS or DCS 2.0 formats can support more information and vector data. In this example, an EPS is saved.
Before saving this file, you must convert your path into a clipping path. This clipping path will define
your transparency when you place the image into another application. For this lesson, you will turn off
the layer that includes the stroke.
1 In the Layers panel, turn off the visibility icon ( ) on the new layer you created to apply a stroke on
the path.
2 If the Paths panel is not visible, choose Windows > Path, and then select the gum machine path.
3 Click the panel menu in the Paths panel and select Clipping Path.
