In-Depth Information
1 Select the Fleur-De-Lis object in the scene. In the 3D panel, the Fleur-De-Lis object is highlighted
with several materials listed below. Choose the first of these materials, Fleur-De-Lis Front Inflation
Material, and view the material parameters in the Properties panel.
2 In the Properties panel, click the material preview to view a pop-up panel of available material presets.
Scroll down and select Metal Gold. This assigns the Metal Gold material preset to the front face of the
Fleur-De-Lis extrusion.
3 In the 3D panel, Ctrl+click (Windows) or Command+click (Mac OS) the other materials listed under
the Fleur-De-Lis object, so all the materials are selected for this object. Do not select the Boundary
Constraints. In the Properties panel, set them all to the Metal Gold preset. All surfaces of the Fleur-
De-Lis object should now have reflective gold surfaces.
Material presets contain samples for metals, plastics, glass, and more.
4 Click the Render button at the bottom of the 3D panel to view the appearance of the newly applied ma-
terials.
Changing the properties of the extruded text
You will now make additional changes to the extruded text.
1 Select the Extruded Text object from the 3D panel.
2 Select all the materials listed below the Extruded Text object. Click the first material and then
Shift+click the last material. All five materials for this object are now selected and highlighted.
3 Click the material preview in the Properties panel. Choose the Plastic Glossy (Blue) material to assign
this new material to the Extruded Text object.
4 Because all the materials are selected, any changes you make in the Properties panel will affect all the
faces of the Extruded Text object. Click the Diffuse color swatch in the Properties panel. Change the
hue from blue to green (R: 0 G: 128 B: 0 ) and click OK.
