8 Verify that the foreground color is still black, and then press Alt+Delete (Windows) or Option+Back-
space (Mac OS) to fill this selected area with black in the mask.
9 Press Ctrl+D (Windows) or Command+D (Mac OS) to deactivate your selection.
Blending the church using Adjustment Layers
You will now tone-match the church layer, since it is much redder than the layers below.
1 Create a new curves adjustment layer on top of the church by choosing Layer > New Adjustment Lay-
er > Curves. In the New Layer dialog box, click OK.
2 Press and hold the Alt key (Windows) or Option key (Mac OS) and click the line separating the layers
between the Curves 1 layer and the church straightened layer when you see the clipping mask symbol
( ) This links the adjustment layer to the church straightened layer so the changes yo make so not af-
fect the layers beneath.
Add a new Curves adjustment layer.
