Setting the target highlight color.
If you have properly defined your Color Settings, you should not need to change the Set black point
values. If you have a close relationship with a printer, and they are supplying you with their maximum
black values, you could double-click the Sample in image to set the Black Point eyedropper ( ) and
enter the values that they have provided.
Selecting the black point eyedropper.
After all this setup, you still need to adjust your image. The good news is that you do not have to set
up each separate image once you've done this initial set up.
5 Select Sample in image to set the white point eyedropper ( ), and click the #1 color sampler you
placed earlier. By clicking the color sampler you had defined in this area of the image as the lightest
point on the tone curve, you are adjusting the image to the newly defined highlight color values.
If this gives you unexpected results, it could be because you missed the color sampler. You can
undo by pressing Ctrl+Z (Windows) or Command+Z (Mac OS). Try clicking again.
Now you will set the black, or darkest, part of your image.
