Going Beyond
Now that you've tackled the basics of designing objects, you can move on to
some other challenges. In Chapter 9 , you'll learn how to scan 3D objects and
print them on your MakerBot. If you'd like to try your hand at designing 3D
things using a non-visual, programmer-oriented system, check out Appen-
dix C where we'll teach you how to use OpenSCAD, an open source solid
modeling tool aimed at programmers. To create objects in OpenSCAD, you'll
write lines of code and won't need to pick up your mouse except to examine
the objects you've created or pick an option from a menu!
