On 19 May 2010, Central World was one of the many properties set on fire when the Red
Shirts anti-government protestors were forcibly removed after months of demonstrations
whichincludedcompleteblockageoftheRachaprasongshoppingdistrict.Thepartsofthe
complexmostaffectedweretheZensdepartmentstoreanditsadjacentannex.Mostpartsof
the gigantic shopping complex are reopened now.
