Nymphenburg Park
Before setting off from Schloss
Nymphenburg
(see pp12-13)
, take
your bearings from one of the
many park plans posted near the
entrance. An attractive route is a
pavilion circuit - Pagodenburg, the
cascades, the Temple of Apollo,
Badenburg, and Amalienburg -
and back to the palace. Round
out your walk with a visit to the
Museum Mensch und Natur or the
Botanical Gardens.

Hiking along the Isar

Hiking on the Ilkahöhe
Starting at the S-Bahn (S6)
station in Tutzing, the trail to
the Ilkahöhe is clearly marked
by white triangles and climbs up
a total elevation of some 150 m
(500 ft), in part on narrow forest
paths. The view from the top of
the hill is magnificent. On clear
days, you can see the entire
chain of the Bavarian Alps.

A Walk in Westpark
Set off at the eastern end of
Westpark at the corner of Hansastr
and Baumgartnerstr. Walk west
through the park grounds until
you reach a footbridge, which
links the eastern and western
sections. Special features of the
park include artful Asian garden
landscapes and a restaurant
(with beer garden) next to a
rose garden.
