open a new empty page.

Tap the Pages button in the toolbar to view the interface for manag-
ing open pages.

Tap the New Page placeholder (

). An empty Safari window
appears, where you can enter a Web address or perform a search.

Another option is to open a link in a new page. Instead of just tapping
the link, touch and hold it, and then tap Open in New Page (
Figure 3.4
