After component removal, re-reaming of the acetabulum and femoral canal, a
press-fit cup without screws, a new UHMW polyethylene bearing (sterilized by
ethylene oxide) and a calcar replacement femoral component with a proper length
modular head to equalize lengths were all installed, followed by routine anatomic
closure. Trochanteric wires were used to stabilize the trochanter to the prosthesis.
