Turn on the visibility of the tennis ball layer by clicking the Indicates layer visibility square to the left of
the layer name.

Position the ball so that it looks as though it would fit in the dog's mouth. Ignore the fact that it is actu-
ally on top of his nose.
Position the tennis ball in the dog's mouth.

Turn off the visibility of the tennis ball layer.

Select the dog layer (
ps0902.psd
) in the Layers panel.

Select the Quick Selection tool and click and drag to select the dog's nose and upper mouth.
Select the upper mouth and nose in the dog.

Click Refine Edge in the Options bar and select the Smart Radius check box.

Enter
5.0
into the Radius check box.

In the Output section, choose to Output to a New Layer with Layer Mask, and click OK.
