Make a selection with the Quick Selection tool.
Refining a selection
In this next part of the lesson, you will take the quick selection that you made and improve the masking of
the fine hairs in the fur.

Click the Refine Edge button in the Options bar. If you do not see Refine Edge, you might not have a
Selection tool active. Make sure that you have the Quick Selection tool, or any selection marquee tool
active, to see the Refine Edge option.

When the Refine Edge dialog box appears, press
F
. Pressing F cycles you through the different View
Modes. Continue pressing F until you see the dog selection on a black background. Remember that the
view is only to help you make a better selection.

In the Edge Detection section, select the check box for Smart Radius and then increase the radius to 5.
You can do this by dragging the slider to the right, or by typing
5.0
into the Radius text field.
