Dragging and dropping to copy one image to another
In this section, you'll drag and drop one image into another.
1 Choose File > Browse in Bridge and double-click the image named ps0904.psd to open the image of the
tennis ball.
2 Select the Move tool ( ), and then click the image of the tennis ball; do not make a selection.
3 Click in the middle of the tennis ball image and drag it up to the tab at the top of the work area that is
labeled ps0901_work. When your cursor is positioned over the tab, the ps0901_work image comes for-
ward: DO NOT release the mouse. Continue dragging down into the image area of your dog composite
work file and then release. The tennis ball picture is placed into the dog composite as a new layer. If
you receive a message that you cannot use the move tool because the layer is locked, you did not wait
until the ps0901_work.psd image came forward before releasing the mouse.
Click and drag the tennis ball image up to the ps0901_work tab.
4 Change the name of the new tennis ball layer by double-clicking the default name of Layer 1 (in the
Layers panel), and changing it to tennis ball .
