Esoteric defaults you should know about
There is a lot of research that was done to arrive at the defaults that are part of
HTML5 Boilerplate. It is really fun to understand how different browsers behave and
what drove us to choose the defaults as they are.
Meta UTF-8
The meta element represents any metadata information for the page. Setting <meta
charset="utf-8"> in the <head> element will ensure browsers parse the page
with UTF-8 encoding in the absence of any other information about the encoding of
the page.
