Ring in the New Year with Mickey and friends. If you're in the mood for a night
of partying and live entertainment, there's no better place than Downtown Disney
or Universal CityWalk . Both offer a choice of parties and midnight fireworks. The
Magic Kingdom shows the New Year's Eve fireworks on both December 30 and 31
for those who either wish to see fireworks in multiple parks or who don't wish to be
caught in the largest crowds of the year on New Year's Eve.
Though all parks, with the exception of Animal Kingdom, have spectacular fire-
works at midnight, here are a few different options for the last night of the year:
Cirque du Soleil offers a special New Year's production of La Nouba . For more inform-
ation, visit cirquedusoleil.com .
• Forget the rides—the lines will be looong . Relax at your hotel pool and go out for a great
dinner that night. If you have little children, get a babysitter. The trick is to arrive a day
before New Year's, settle in, go to a water park, and start the touring after January 2,
when crowds thin out.
• At Epcot, welcome the New Year several times. Have a drink before 6 p.m. at the Bier-
garten in Germany. (When the clock strikes 6, it will be midnight in Germany.) Then go
over to the Rose & Crown Pub in the United Kingdom and repeat the celebration at 7
p.m., as guests and staff alike will be welcoming the New Year in the United Kingdom.
Best of all, you get to start all over again a few hours later when the clock finally strikes
midnight at Epcot.
HIGH-LOW, HIGH-LOW, IT'S OFF TO DISNEY WE GO
THOUGH WE RECOMMEND OFF - SEASON TOURING , we realize that's not possible for
many families. We want to make it clear, therefore, that you can have a wonderful
experience regardless of when you go. Our advice, irrespective of season, is to arrive
early at the parks and avoid the crowds by using one of our touring plans. If attend-
ance is light, kick back and forget the touring plans.
Selecting the Day of the Week for Your Visit
We receive thousands of e-mails and letters from readers each year asking which park
is the best bet on a particular day. To make things easier for you (and us!), we provide
