WHEN TO GO TO WALT DISNEY WORLD
LET'S CUT TO THE ESSENCE : Walt Disney World between mid-June and mid-August 18
is rough. You can count on large summer crowds as well as Florida's trademark heat
and humidity. Avoid these dates if you can. Ditto for Memorial Day weekend at the
beginning of the summer and Labor Day weekend at the end. Other holiday periods
(Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Halloween, spring break, and so on) are extremely
crowded, but the heat is not as bad.
The least busy time is from Labor Day in September through the beginning of
October. Next slowest are the weeks in mid-January after the Martin Luther King
Jr. holiday weekend up to Presidents Day in February (except when the Walk Dis-
ney World Marathon runs after MLK Day). The weeks after Thanksgiving and before
Christmasarelesscrowdedthanaverage,asismid-April-mid-May,afterspringbreak
and before Memorial Day.
BOB Though crowds have grown in September and October as a result of
promotions aimed at families without school-age children and the interna-
tional market, these months continue to be good for touring.
