water is soothing. Did you know that in the winter months Disney actually heats all
the water-park pools?

While I do not feel any better on a water roller coaster than I do
on the dry thing, I love the water parks. My all-time favorite water ride is
Teamboat Springs, the 1,200-foot white-water raft flume at Blizzard Beach.
Both water parks are large and require almost as much walking as the major
theme parks. Add to this wave surfing, swimming, and climbing to reach the slides,
and you'll definitely be pooped by day's end. Consider a low-key activity for the
evening. A Waterloo, Ontario, mom found Typhoon Lagoon to be more strenuous
than she anticipated:
I wish I had been prepared for the fact that we'd have to haul the tubes up
the stairs of the Crush 'n' Gusher slides. My daughter was not strong enough
to carry hers, so I had to lug the tubes up by myself. I was EXHAUSTED by
the end of the day, and my arms ached for a couple of days afterward.

parks as it is at a major theme park. On arrival, pick a very specific place to meet in
the event you are separated. If you split up on purpose, establish times for checking
in.
Children under age 10 must be accompanied by an adult. The water parks are
great fun for the whole family, but if you have very young children or if you are
not a thrill-seeking water puppy, the pool of your hotel might serve just as well.
The water parks, however, were made to order for teens. Note that during the winter
months, Disney closes Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon for refurbishing, altern-
ating maintenance in such a way that one water park will be open at all times. If it is
very wintry, Disney will close both parks.
