In-Depth Information
BOB Roller coasters at Islands of Adventure are the real deal—not for the
timid or for little ones.
Islands of Adventure is arranged much like Epcot's World Showcase—in a large
circle surroundingalake—but itsthemed areasareself-contained “lands” reminiscent
of the Magic Kingdom. You first encounter the Moroccan-style Port of Entry, where
you'llfindGuestServices, lockers,stroller andwheelchair rentals, ATMbanking,lost
and found, and shopping. From the Port of Entry, moving clockwise around the la-
goon, you access Marvel Super Hero Island, Toon Lagoon, Jurassic Park, The
Wizarding World of Harry Potter-Hogsmeade, The Lost Continent, and Seuss
Landing.
DECISIONS, DECISIONS
WHEN IT COMES TO TOURING IOA efficiently, you have two basic choices, and as you
might expect, there are trade-offs. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter-Hogsmeade
sucks up guests like a Hoover. If you're keen to experience Harry Potter and the
Forbidden Journey without suffering 1-2 hours in line, you need to be at the turn-
stiles waiting to be admitted at least 30 minutes before the park opens. Once you're
admitted, move as swiftly as possible to The Wizarding World and then ride Forbid-
den Journey and Dragon Challenge, in that order. If you can get them out of the way
in about an hour, you'll find much of the remainder of the park sparsely populated.
Come back to The Wizarding World later in the day to explore Hogsmeade and the
shops. Even if you're the first day guest to arrive, you'll find Hogsmeade already oc-
cupied by hotel guests, but it's the least crowded the land will be until late in the day.
