AFTERNOON PARADE
Disney cancelled
Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade
in
mid-2014, after a 14-year run at Animal Kingdom. A replacement has not been an-
nounced.
ANIMAL ENCOUNTERS
Throughout the day, Disney staff conduct impromptu short
lectures on specific animals at the park. Look for a cast member in safari garb holding
a bird, reptile, or small mammal.
In the summer of 2014, Disney launched
Winged Encounters—The Kingdom
Takes Flight.
Sort of like
Flights of Wonder
on a smaller scale, the outdoor show fea-
tures macaws and their handlers on Discovery Island, across from Flame Tree Barbe-
cue. Guests can to talk to the animals' trainers and see the birds fly around the middle
of the park. Check the

for the performance schedule.
GOODWILL AMBASSADORS
AnumberofAsianandAfricancastmembersareonhand
throughout the park. Gracious and knowledgeable, they're delighted to discuss their
native countries and the wildlife in them. Look for them in Harambe and along the
Pangani Forest Exploration Trail in Africa, and in Anandapur and along the Mahara-
jah Jungle Trek in Asia. They can also be found near the main entrance and at The
Oasis.
KIDS
'
DISCOVERY CLUB
Activity stations offer kids ages 4-8 a structured learning ex-
perience as they tour Animal Kingdom. Set up along walkways in six themed areas,
Discovery Club stations are manned by cast members who supervise a different activ-
ity at each station. Asouvenir logbook, available free, is stamped at each station when
the child completes a craft or exercise. Kids enjoy collecting the stamps and noodling
puzzles in the logbook while in attraction lines.
RIVERS OF LIGHT
In late 2013, Disney confirmed that the Discovery River Lagoon
will be home to this new nighttime extravaganza. The show will combine live music,
floating lanterns, water screens, and animal imagery. No official date for the show's
debut has been announced, but Disney says it will open before Avatar land is com-
pleted.
STREET PERFORMERS
Can be found most of the time at Harambe in Africa and at
Anandapur in Asia.
Far and away the most intriguing of these performers is the one you can't see—at
least not at first. A perfect fusion between fantasy and reality,
