The OASIS
THOUGH THE FUNCTIONAL PURPOSE of The Oasis is to funnel guests to the center of
the park, it also sets the stage and gets you into the right mood to enjoy Animal King-
dom. There's no one broad thoroughfare, but rather multiple paths; each delivers you
to Discovery Island at the center of the park, but the path you choose and what you
see along the way are up to you. The natural-habitat zoological exhibits are primarily
designed for the comfort and well-being of the animals. A sign will identify the an-

definitely set aside some time here on your way out of the park. The Oasis usually
closes 30-60 minutes after the rest of the park.

which guests can access the park's various themed areas; it's also the park's central
shopping, dining, and services headquarters. Here you'll find First Aid and the Baby
Care Center. For the best selection of Disney merchandise, try Island Mercantile.
Counter-service food and snacks, but no full-service restaurants, are available. In ad-
dition to several wildlife exhibits, Discovery Island's Tree of Life hosts the film It's
