WANTED: TALL BLUE FOLKS
Disney is trying to find performers to portray the
Na'vi, those tall, blue-skinned, catlike people from
Avatar
. According to the preliminary
job description, applicants must have experience working on stilts, be unafraid of heights,
have no allergies or skin conditions that would preclude the wearing of body paint, and be
able to wear colored contacts.
Kilimanjaro Safaris and the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail close around 30-60
minutes before sunset. Thus, as days get shorter with the change of seasons, the at-
tractions close earlier in the day. In the fall, Disney closes all animal exhibits as early
as 4:45 p.m.
Finally,amajorconstruction project beguninMarch2014willbringthefloraand
fauna of James Cameron's
Avatar
to the park sometime in 2017. The area formerly
known as Camp Minnie-Mickey has been demolished and its attractions relocated to
other areas of the park to make way for the
Avatar
land.
