As noted earlier, FastPass+ gets you into a special viewing area for the show—in
Showcase Plaza , on the south shore of World Showcase Lagoon, directly north of
Future World—but you still have to arrive a good half-hour or so in advance to get a
good spot. What's more, there are so many other good viewing spots around the la-
goon that IllumiNations really isn't a good use of FastPass+—the consequence is an
hour-long wait at either Soarin' or Test Track. The one exception is if you're visiting
World Showcase for an evening, as there are no other Tier A attractions here.
For other great viewing spots, check out the map on the next page. Note that the
boat dock opposite Germany may be exposed to a lot of smoke from the fireworks
because of Epcot's prevailing winds.
IllumiNations is the climax of every day at Epcot, so keep in mind that once the
show is over, you'll be leaving the park and so will almost everybody else. For sug-
gested exit strategies, see the next page.
For a really good view of the show, you can charter a pontoon boat for about
$350. Captained by a Disney cast member, the boat holds up to 10 guests. Your cap-
tain will take you for a little cruise and then position the boat in a perfect place to
watch IllumiNations . For more information, call 407- WDW-PLAY .
