In-Depth Information
This is a great place for kids age 5 and up to unwind. The wildest and most uncooper-
ative youngster will relax after exploring caves and climbing around in an old fort.
It's also a great place for a picnic, but there is no food, so bring your own. Access is
by raft with a (usually short) wait both coming and going. Plan to give your kids at
least 20 minutes on the island—left to their own devices, they would likely stay all
day.
I love Tom Sawyer Island. It's the perfect place to take a break or have a
picnic; plus, it's a great place for nursing moms to find a quiet spot. Be
aware, though, that raft transportation to the island stops at sunset.
I thought this was really cool because I like adventurous stuff like the rope
bridges. There's also a playground. You take a boat across the lake to get
there.
