In-Depth Information
LILIANE Specific Fast-Pass+ information for each Disney theme park is
provided in its respective chapter.
Because FastPass+ has a learning curve, understanding how to use it is important
for success when using our touring plans, especially if you want to experience lots of
attractions or you're unable to arrive at park opening. Somewhat like making a dinner
reservation at a restaurant, FastPass+ allows you to reserve a ride on an attraction at a
Disney theme park. You can request a specific time, such as 7:30 p.m., or you can let
the system give you its “first available” reservation.
Although we take issue with the new system's complicated rules and procedures,
we do concede that it can help you see more with less waiting, provided you know
how to use it. Like the old FastPass, it reduces waits for designated attractions by
distributing guests at those attractions throughout the day. FastPass+ provides an in-
centive—a shorter wait—for guests willing to postpone experiencing a given attrac-
tion until later in the day. The system also, in effect, imposes a penalty—standby
status—on guests who don't use it. However, spreading out guest arrivals sometimes
decreases waits for standby guests as well.
