In-Depth Information
In any event, as you start your afternoon/evening block, see attractions with low bot-
tleneck ratings until about 5 p.m. After 5 p.m., any attraction with a rating of 1-7 is
fair game. If you stay into the evening, try attractions with ratings of 8-10 during the
hour just before closing.
BOB
We strongly recommend deferring parades, stage shows, and other
productions until the afternoon/evening.
In addition to attractions, each theme park offers a broad range of special live en-
tertainment events. In the morning, concentrate on the attractions. For the record, we
regard live shows that offer five or more daily performances a day (except for street
entertainment) as attractions. Thus,
Indiana Jones
at Disney's Hollywood Studios is
an attraction, as is
Festival of the Lion King
at the Animal Kingdom.
IllumiNations
at
Epcot or the parades at the Magic Kingdom, on the other hand, are live entertainment
events. A schedule of live performances is listed in the
Times Guide
available at the
entrance of each park. When planning your day, also be aware that major live events
draw large numbers of guests from the attraction lines. Thus, a good time to see an
especially popular attraction is during a parade or other similar event.
TOURING PLANS
OUR TOURING PLANS ARE STEP-BY-STEP GUIDES
for seeing as much as possible with a
minimum of standing in line. They're designed to help you avoid crowds and bottle-
necks on days of moderate-to-heavy attendance. On days of lighter attendance (see
“
When to Go to Walt Disney World
”), the plans will still save time, but they won't be
as critical to successful touring.
Unofficial Guide
touring plans, it seems, have side ef-
fects. As two readers attest, the plans can fan the embers of love and help you impress
