LILIANE If your kids are little and don't mind a hairdo change, consider
getting them a short haircut before you leave home. Not only will they be
cooler and more comfortable, but—especially with your girls—you'll save
them (and yourselves) the hassle of tangles and about 20 minutes of foo-
fooing a day. Don't try this with your confident teen or preteen, though.
Braids will do the trick for girls, and your Mick Jagger in the party will be
grateful for the bandanna or sports headband, unless of course the hair is
meant to keep the monsters and dinosaurs out of sight!

Another advantage of buying ponchos before you leave home is that you can
choose the color. At Walt Disney World all the ponchos are clear, and it's quite a sight
when 30,000 differently clad individuals suddenly transform themselves into what
looks like an army of really big larvae. If your family is wearing blue ponchos, they'll
be easier to spot.

MEDICATION Some parents of hyperactive children on medication discontinue or de-
crease the child's normal dosage at the end of the school year. If you have such a
child, be aware that Walt Disney World might overly stimulate him or her. Consult
your physician before altering your child's medication regimen. Also, if your child
has attention deficit disorder, remember that especially loud sounds can drive him or
