Many counter-service registers serve two queues each, one to the left and one to the
right of each register. People are not used to this and will instinctively line up in one
queue per register, typically on the right side, leaving the left vacant. We had register
operators wave us up to the front several times to start a left queue instead of waiting
behind others on the right
