the music in the lobby can be disconcertingly loud, the rooms are not as expansive
or good-looking as the public spaces, and the complex is frequently crowded with
sightseers. Also, because a wedding chapel is on the grounds, there are frequently
receptions, photo sessions, and bridezilla fits—which, depending on your outlook,
add charm or are inconveniences. The Villas at the Grand Floridian, a Disney Va-
cation Club property, opened in the fall of 2013. This new T-shaped building, situ-
ated between the main building and the Polynesian Resort, along Seven Seas Lagoon,
has 200 rooms in studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom configurations, along with a
0.25-acre kids' pool.

THE POLYNESIAN IS ARRAYED along the Seven Seas Lagoon facing the Magic
Kingdom. It's a huge complex, but the hotel buildings, laid out like a South Seas-
island village around a ceremonial house, are of a decidedly human scale compared
