bus, boat, or monorail, but it will take you directly from the Magic Kingdom entrance

DINING
DINING FIGURES INTO THE DISCUSSION of where to stay only if you don't plan to have
a car at your disposal. If you plan on using the Disney Transportation System (for
Disney hotel guests) or the courtesy shuttle of your non-Disney hotel, you will either
have to dine at the theme parks or at or near your hotel. If your hotel offers a lot of
choices or if other restaurants are within walking distance, then there's no problem.
If your hotel is somewhat isolated and offers limited selections, you'll feel like Bob
did on a canoe trip once when he ate northern pike at every meal for a week because
that's all he could catch.
At Walt Disney World, although it's relatively quick and efficient to commute
fromyourDisneyhotelorcampgroundtothethemeparks,it'salong,arduousprocess
requiring transfers to travel from hotel to hotel. Disney hotels that are somewhat isol-
atedandthatofferlimiteddiningchoicesincludetheOldKeyWest,CaribbeanBeach,
All-Star,PopCentury,ArtofAnimation, Animal KingdomLodge,CoronadoSprings,
and Wilderness Lodge Resorts, as well as the Fort Wilderness Campground and most
of the Saratoga Springs Resort.
If you want a condo-type accommodation so that you have more flexibility for
meal preparation than eating out of a cooler, the best deals in Walt Disney World
are the prefab log cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Other Disney
lodgings with kitchens are available at the BoardWalk Villas, Old Key West, Saratoga
Springs, Wilderness Lodge Villas, Animal Kingdom Villas, Bay Lake Tower, and the
Beach Club Villas, but all are much more expensive than the cabins at the camp-
ground. Outside Walt Disney World, an ever-increasing number of condos are avail-
able, and some are very good deals. See our discussion of lodging outside of Walt
Disney World later in this chapter.
LILIANE If you share a room with your children, you all need to hit the
sack at the same time. Establish a single compromise bedtime, probably a
little early for you and a bit later than the children's usual weekend bedtime.
