checked, police-checked, and trained in CPR. In addition to caring for your kids in
your room, the sitters will, if you direct (and pay), take your children to the theme
parks or other venues. Both services offer bilingual sitters. (See table opposite for de-
tails.)
SPECIAL PROGRAMS for
CHILDREN
SEVERAL CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS ARE AVAILABLE at Walt Disney World parks and re-
sorts. While all are undoubtedly fun, we find them somewhat lacking in educational
focus.
BEHIND THE SEEDS AT EPCOT This 1-hour walking tour of the Land greenhouses and
labs at Epcot has plenty of interaction for the kids, including guessing games and
feeding fish at the fish farm. The greenhouses are home to more than 60 crops from
around the world. Did you know that the food grown in The Land is used at restaur-
ants throughout Epcot? The price is $20 per adult and $16 per child (ages 3-9). Call
407- WDW - TOUR for additional information and reservations.
DINE WITH AN ANIMAL SPECIALIST We highly recommend this experience at Sanaa,
one of the restaurants at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Not only will you and your family
be treated to a fabulous African-inspired lunch, but you'll also get to spend time with
a caretaker who shares fun facts about his or her work with the animals. After lunch,
guests are taken outside and behind the gates to meet an endangered animal.
Limited to 12 participants, the lunch is offered Wednesdays and Saturdays at
noon. The price—$49 for adults and $29 for kids ages 3-9 (it's best suited for ages
8 and up)—includes tax, tip, and a $5 donation to the Disney Conservation Fund. It's
educational, fun, and a great value. Check out Liliane's review at tinyurl.com/lunch-
withanimalspecialist .
