3 Regular sampling of water and feed with a view to
checking compliance with withdrawal periods

accordance with Directive 2003/99
If the OV is not satisfied with the information,he or
she may ask for further information such as details of the
hatchery, feedstuffs, growth rates, etc., and if the produc-
tion report is not complete or does not provide the
required information or the OV is not satisfied, he or she
may order an inspection at the farm of origin to enable
completion of the report. The inspection is carried out at
the owner's expense. The food chain information (FCI)
report consists of the following details:
Holding of origin
Intended date of arrival at slaughterhouse
Alternatively, the veterinarian signs an initial declara-
tion, given to the central competent authority, confirming
that the producer's holding is under his or her supervi-
sion. The producer then submits a production report to
the manager of the plant at least 72 hours before the
birds are  due to arrive. The information is then passed
on to the OV.
