30. The future of geography as envisaged by our 'integrated
development' scenario
subdisciplines of physical and human geography are core;
other parts are peripheral; while yet others extend into the
interdisciplinary fi elds.
Possible scenarios for the future development of geography can be
proposed in relation to this model of the structure of geography,
and three alternative scenarios are considered here:
the ' laissez-faire ' scenario
the 'separate-development' scenario
the 'integrated-development' scenario.
