Although the PSNR numbers indicates inferior objective performance for
PRDOTCQ algorithm, the coded image reveals the better subjective quality with the
same rate. The subjective evaluation complying with Recommendation ITU-R
BT.500-11[14] is conducted. Two decoded images with the same rate are displayed
synchronously on the screen side by side; one is from the RDOTCQ algorithm, the
other is from the proposed algorithm. Audiences do not know which one is original.
After one compare, the locations of the two sequences on the screen were exchanged.
The average subjective quality score of the PRDOTCQ algorithm is better. Thus al-
though the PSNR numbers indicates inferior objective performance for PRDOTCQ
algorithm, the coded image reveals the same or better subjective quality. It is also can
be seen from Fig.4
